Teen & Adult Theatre AuditionTheatre auditions for actors are being held for a new musical production. “Junie B. Jones” the musical is in need of teen and adult actors. The casting call is searching for seven female actors and four male actors ages 14 to 17. Casting directors are also seeking a man and woman ages 25 and up. Performances will be held at the Carroll Arts Center in Westminster, Maryland. Auditions are being held on Saturday, May 6th and Sunday, May 7th. Rehearsals will be in June through early July with performances taking place in mid-July. If you have always wanted to star in a play, here is your chance!About the ShowIt’s Junie B.’s first day of first grade, and a lot of things have changed for her: Junie’s friend, Lucille, doesn’t want to be her best pal anymore and, on the bus, Junie B. makes friends with Herb, the new kid at school. Also, Junie has trouble reading the blackboard and her teacher, Mr. Scary, thinks she may need glasses. Throw in a friendly cafeteria lady, a kickball tournament and a “Top-Secret Personal Beeswax Journal,” and first grade has never been more exciting.What They Are Looking ForRoles available for 7 female actors and 4 male actors aged 14-17 (playing 6 years old), as well as 1 man and 1 woman aged 25+. Audition Registration for Junie B. Jones at the Carroll Arts Center Rehearsals will take place mostly during daytime hours, and performances will be matinees only.All roles are non-union, non-paid.Auditions, rehearsals and performances all take place at the Carroll Arts Center at 91 West Main St. Westminster MD 21157Audition appointments will be scheduled in individual slots on either Saturday May 6 between 10am-1pm or Sunday May 7 between 6pm-8pm. Please prepare for your audition: 16-32 bars of an up-tempo musical theatre piece and one short comedic monologue or a selection from a children’s book. Call backs will be Thursday May 11 from 4:30-8:30. Actors who are called back will receive material from the script to prepare and will learn a dance combination from the choreographer.Rehearsal Schedule: Cast read through- June 1, 4:30-6:30Rehearsals: Mondays June 19 & 26 – 1pm-5pm, Tuesdays June 20 & 27 – 1pm-5pm, Wednesdays June 21 & 28, July 5 – 1pm-5pm, Thursdays June 22 & 29, July 6 – 4pm-8pm, Fridays June 23 & 30, July 7 – 1pm-5pm, Sunday July 9 – TBD, Mon-Wed July 10, 11, & 12 – 1pm-5pmBrush up rehearsal: Tuesday July 18 – 2pm-4pm*Not all actors will be required at all rehearsals, or for the entirety of a rehearsal.
