Applicants must be at least 18 and authorized to work in the United States.

Dory – Female. Mid – 20s. A forgetful, yet very optimistic lady fish and Marlin’s companion during this journey. Extremely quirky and an expert with comedic material. Character singer, comfortable flying at heights. Must weigh less than 183 lbs.

Nemo – Female. Early 20s. Plays youthful boy. Adorable, endlessly curious, spirited, childlike and fearless, yet at the same time naïve and vulnerable. Bright and youthful mix or belt.

Bruce – Male. 30s. A vegetarian great white shark. Can go from screaming rockers to an elegant soft shoe. Comedic baritone and able to handle harmonies.

Theatre auditions for actors are being held for a new musical production. “Junie B. Jones” the musical is in need of teen and adult actors. It’s Junie B.’s first day of first grade, and a lot of things have changed for her: Junie’s friend, Lucille, doesn’t want to be her best pal anymore and, on the bus, Junie B. makes friends with Herb, the new kid at school. Also, Junie has trouble reading the blackboard and her teacher, Mr. Scary, thinks she may need glasses. Throw in a friendly cafeteria lady, a kickball tournament and a “Top-Secret Personal Beeswax Journal,” and first grade has never been more exciting.

Roles available for 7 female actors and 4 male actors aged 14-17 (playing 6 years old), as well as 1 man and 1 woman aged 25+.

Metallica, one of the biggest selling acts in American history, were born on October 28, 1981 when drummer Lars Ulrich and guitar player/singer James Hetfield got together via Ulrich’s LA Recycler newspaper ad. Soon, the two had recruited Hetfield’s friend and housemate Ron McGovney to play bass, Dave Mustaine to play lead guitar, and taken the name Metallica after a suggestion from Bay Area metal scene friend Ron Quintana. Their ascent was to be relatively quick, driven by sheer work-rate, effort and a rare musical chemistry. After hitting the opener’s circuit in LA (where they supported the likes of Saxon) they recorded their first ever demo No Life ‘Til Leather. The tape-trading circuit went crazy for it, and after repeatedly well-received shows in the Bay Area, Metallica found themselves relocating there after convincing bassist Cliff Burton to leave his band Trauma and replace McGovney. Casting Call for Boys Around Ages 5-6 for Ragtime Performing in Virginia

Wolf Trap, in conjunction with Phoenix Entertainment, is searching for a young male actor to portray the role of “Young Coalhouse” in the National Tour of Ragtime at Wolf Trap on June 9-11, 2016. They are looking for boys to perform in the musical and are now accepting applications from those located in Maryland, Washington D.C. and Virginia.

About Ragtime at Wolf Trap

Winning Tony Awards for Best Book and Best Musical Score, this 13 time Tony Award nominated musical is a timeless celebration of life. The stories of an upper-class wife, a determined Jewish immigrant and a daring young Harlem musician unfold – set in turn-of-the-century New York – all three united by their desire and belief in a brighter tomorrow.

The national tour will be performing at Wolf Trap. Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts is a majestic natural setting for over 100 performances across all genres every summer. It is located in Virginia.

What They Are Looking For

“Young Coalhouse”

Young Coalhouse is a young African American boy, ideally around 5 or 6 years old, between 3’-6” to 4’-0” tall, and 40 to 50 pounds. Young Coalhouse should have an “innocent” and “pure” quality about him. In role, Young Coalhouse will be picked up by an adult cast member, sit on a cast member’s lap and pretend to play piano. Young Coalhouse will also skip in a circle holding hands with other young actors. Young actor must be able to attend rehearsal and wardrobe fittings on June 9, as well as all four performances June 9-11. Young actor will need a chaperone over 18 years of age to accompany him at all times.

How to Apply

Young actor must submit a full length front and full length side photo, in addition to a headshot (if available), as well as an audition card and release form to ragtime@wolftrap.org by Friday, May 27.

NOTIFICATION: Phoenix Entertainment will notify selected child by Thursday, June 2.

NBC’s “Hairspray Live” Seeking Teen Actresses 18+ in New York City

Following the success for “The Wiz Live“, NBC is assembling an all-star cast and team of Broadway’s finest and most talented creatives for it’s upcoming production of “Hairspray Live”. You have a chance to work with some of the best! This will be the network’s latest stage musical. The telecast will air on NBC on December 7th at 8:00 E.T./ 5:00 p.m. P.T. About “Hairspray”

The Broadway show is based on the 1988 John Waters film. Hairspray follows lovable optimist Tracy Turnblad as she follows her dream, turning Baltimore upside down as she goes. This eight-time Tony Award winner boasts big hair, bigger fun and some of the most toe-tapping good times around. The show will be directed by the director of The Wiz Live, Tony Award winning Broadway Director Kenny Leon. Jerry Mitchell, the original choreographer of ‘Hairspray,’ will also be apart of the show. Harvey Fierstein will be writing the adaptation for TV since he played the role of Edna Turnblad more than 1,000 times and won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical!

What They Are Looking For

Casting directors are holding auditions for females ages 18 and up to play high school age for the role of Tracy Turnblad, the lead of the show! They are seeking a heavyset woman for the role. Tracy is an outgoing, unstoppable and good-hearted with a vibrant, lovable and spirited personality. She loves to dance. She becomes a teen heroine. Actress should be a strong pop belt singer and great mover.

The Wiz Live! – NBC Musical

NBC has revived the movie musical with their hugely popular stagings of The Sound of Music Live! starring country superstar Carrie Underwood and Peter Pan Live! featuring Girls star Allison Williams and now the network has decided on it’s next magical production, the Wizard of Oz adaptation The Wiz. Open casting calls for roles in the sure to be global sensation The Wiz Live! are set to be held soon and a number of aspiring actors, singers and dancers will soon have a once in a lifetime chance to be in an unforgettable project.

The Wiz Live! will be a live NBC movie based on the 1978 film starring music legends Michael Jackson, Diana Ross and Nipsey Russell directed by Academy Award winner Sidney Lumet. This beloved adaptation of the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz tells the classic story of Dorothy and her incredible journey down the yellow brick road through the magical Emerald City. Where she meets a tin man, a scarecrow and a cowardly lion who change her life forever and help her find her way back home.

Producers Neil Meron and Craig Zadan (The Oscars, Steel Magnolias, Bonnie and Clyde) of this multi-cultural musical interpretation will add an incredible dance and movement element thanks to a fabulous

collaboration with the world-famous Cirque du Soleil which will only further enhance the unforgettable writing of William F. Brown (who created the acclaimed book), and music and lyrics by Charlie Smalls which will be given an update and polish by Emmy Award nominee and Broadway superstar Harvey Fierstein (Torch Song Trilogy, Independence Day, The Simpsons). The film will be directed by Tony Award winner Kenny Leon (In the Heat of the Night,  A Raisin in the Sun, Aida) and will make an extended run on Broadway following the broadcast. School Of Rock – Nickelodeon

In 2003 the world was won over by the scruffy charm and extensive musical talents of Jack Black and the impressive group of musical prodigies featured in the box office hit School Of Rock and now Nickelodeon is set to transform it’s timeless story into a weekly comedy series and casting calls for a number of different roles for actors, musicians and singers will soon be taking place. This outstanding project is based on the Golden Globe nominated movie directed by Richard Linklater (Bad News Bears, Dazed and Confused, Boyhood) and is being brought to the small screen by himself and Academy Award winning mega-producer Scott Rudin (Moneyball, The Social Network, The Truman Show) and will be written by the team of Steve and Jim Armogida (Grounded for Life, Crash & Bernstein, My Family).
